Sandy Hollow Horse Ride

On a misty Autumn morning in April, Sandy Hollow will be awoken to the sounds of hoofbeats as riders from near and far converge on the village of Sandy Hollow in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW to experience one of the great charity bush horse rides of Australia.

Established to raise funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, an enthusiastic group of volunteers have conducted this ride through sunshine and rain for the last 20 years
The Sandy Hollow Valley is carved out of the mountains by the Goulburn River and the Hall’s and Giant’s Creeks, providing a scenic and challenging ride for riders of all ages.

This is not a flat ground amble, it takes the riders for a 25 to 30km trek through the valleys and mountains surrounding the village of Sandy Hollow.

Join us on Friday Night for the traditional barbecue, raffles and registration at the Tourist Hotel in Sandy Hollow the night before the big day and then back to the pub for refreshments, entertainment and a charity auction with proceeds going to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service after the ride.

Camp with fellow riders at our campground down the road from the hotel for the weekend or stay in local accommodation.

See You There!
